Bangalore Aqua - Industrial RO Plant Manufacturer for Hoskote Taluk
Hoskote (ಹೊಸಕೋಟೆ), also written Hosakote, is the Bengaluru Rural taluk where the city’s eastern edge turns into an industrial and logistics corridor. It sits on the Bengaluru-Kolar highway (NH-75, the old NH-4), with Krishnarajapuram and Whitefield as its nearest railway stations and five hoblis: Kasaba, Sulibele, Nandagudi, Jadigenahalli and Anugondanahalli (Maruthesha Reddy et al., IJCRD 2016). The Bengaluru-Chennai expressway now starts at the Hoskote interchange, the Satellite Town Ring Road links Dabaspet to Hoskote, and more than 90,000 vehicles a day pass the Hoskote toll gate (Economic Times, 2025).
Invest Karnataka lists KIADB industrial areas at Hoskote (Pillagumpa village) and Hoskote (Kambalipura), a KSSIDC industrial estate at Hosakote, and the Arkavathi and Dakshina Pinakini as the district’s rivers. It names textiles, aerospace, automobile and electrical/electronics as major sectors and calls the district a pioneer in silk production. Logistics has grown fastest of all. Knight Frank’s India Warehousing Market Report 2025 says the Hoskote-Narsapura cluster (Hoskote, Nidagatta, Thavarekere, Narsapura, Malur and Sulibele) took 54% of Bengaluru’s warehousing leasing in 2025, about 4.4 million sq ft, up from 30% in 2024.
Water is the weak link. Hoskote sits in the Dakshina Pinakini (South Pennar) basin, and its groundwater is formally over-exploited (details below). The town’s big tank, the Amani Doddakere, has been partly refilled since 2011 with lake water lifted from Bengaluru (IWMI case study, CGIAR), and a 43-lake treated-wastewater filling scheme for the taluk is being built in two phases (The Hans India, 2023). So a warehouse on a deep KIADB bore, a dairy unit on tanker water and a college on a bore beside a refilled tank may be dealing with completely different water.
That is why an industrial RO plant in Hoskote has to be engineered, not picked off a price list. Piped and tanker water is usually treated for turbidity and bacteria, not for dissolved salts, nitrate or fluoride. A water softener swaps calcium and magnesium for sodium: it stops scale, but it does not lower TDS and it does not remove fluoride or nitrate. UV disinfection kills microbes, and that is all it does, so it does not touch fluoride, nitrate, chloride or iron either. In a taluk where published data show very hard bores, iron, fluoride pockets and nitrate hot spots, reverse osmosis with the right pre-treatment is the practical way to get drinking water and low-TDS process water that stays in specification.
Bangalore Aqua And Energy Pvt. Ltd. manufactures RO plants, water treatment systems, softeners, community and solar RO plants, and industrial and commercial systems. Every Hoskote plant is built at our manufacturing unit in Kogilu Layout, Bengaluru, then dispatched, installed and commissioned on site, with AMC support after handover.

Hoskote Water Quality: What the Data Actually Says
Over-exploited aquifers, hard and iron-bearing bores, and lake-fed recharge are different problems
Groundwater stress (CGWB and state data). The 2023 assessment by Karnataka’s Ground Water Directorate and CGWB puts Hoskote’s stage of groundwater extraction at 171.02%, with 3.10 TMC extracted against 1.81 TMC of annual extractable resource, and classifies the taluk as over-exploited (Dynamic Ground Water Resources of Karnataka 2023, OpenCity copy). An earlier figure of 225%, citing CGWB data from 2015, appears in the IJCRD 2016 study. That paper shows the Channapura observation well falling from 6.25 m below ground in May 1993 to 91.52 m in May 2014, the Hoskote town well at 56.63 m (May 2014), and town supply of 1-2 hours a day, topped up by private tankers.
District picture (CGWB booklet). The Central Ground Water Board’s Ground Water Information Booklet for Bangalore Rural district (March 2013, mirrored copy) records average annual rainfall of 824 mm (1901-70), lists “presence of fluoride in pockets” as the quality issue, counts four over-exploited blocks, and puts 2011 piezometer water levels at mostly 5-30 m below ground pre-monsoon. It does not publish a district TDS range.
Taluk-wide village sources (older, large dataset). A 2016 paper analysed panchayat engineering data for 650 drinking-water sources across 26 gram panchayats. TDS ranged from 70 to 4,130 mg/L, total hardness from 40 to 2,550 mg/L, fluoride from 0 to 3.6 mg/L, iron from 0 to 32 mg/L and conductivity from 87 to 5,670 µS/cm. Hardness was above 600 mg/L in 136 sources (20.92%), iron above 1 mg/L in 43, fluoride above 1.5 mg/L in 25 (3.85%), and 70% of sources were classed potable. The authors give 838 mm as average rainfall (Maruthesha Reddy, Prabhakar and Akshatha, IRJET 2016, institutional copy). Its reference list points to a 2000-01 water quality report, so treat these as an older snapshot. Its nitrate figures do not agree internally, so we do not use them.
Nitrate hot spots. A companion study of 82 village drinking-water samples found nitrate from 0 to 1,250 mg/L (mean 59.5 mg/L), with the highest readings at Doddaganahalli (1,250 mg/L) and Yedagondanahalli (1,120 mg/L), and flagged parts of Nandagudi and Anugondanahalli hoblis as anomalous zones (Maruthesha Reddy et al., IRJET 2015, institutional copy). The published table repeats several rows, so read it as a warning sign, not a precise map.
Deep bores, Hoskote-Malur belt (2014). A Bangalore University study of 34 deep bore wells in parts of Hoskote and Malur taluks, sampled in December 2014, found TDS of 167.9 to 1,848.3 mg/L (mean 613.17 mg/L), total hardness of 70 to 770 mg/L with 13 samples above 300 mg/L, fluoride of 0.2 to 1.0 mg/L, nitrate of 1.2 to 25 mg/L, chloride of 40 to 730 mg/L and sulphate above 200 mg/L in 3 samples (Ravikumar, Somashekar and Prakash, EREM 2015). The area drains to the Pinakini and Ponnaiyar.
Lakes, treated wastewater and the river. Since end-2011, about 5-6 million cubic metres a year of water from Bengaluru’s Yelemallappa Shetty tank has been lifted to the Amani Doddakere. The IWMI case reports groundwater near the tank recovering from more than 1,000 feet to about 800 feet and notes that direct use of tank water was banned (CGIAR); activists have contested the quality of that inflow (The News Minute, 2018). The KC Valley scheme, which sends secondary-treated Bellandur water to 137 tanks in Kolar and Chikkaballapur, is separate (Frontline, 2023); we found no source saying it fills Hoskote tanks. Bellandur drains via Varthur into the Dakshina Pinakini (IISc, Varthur lake study), and the river shows sewage foaming downstream at Kelavarapalli (New Indian Express, 2026). A 2017-18 survey of Hosakote lake reports sewage and small-industry pollution, with average TDS of 345.8 ppm and lead of 0.1012 ppm (Veena et al., abstract only); treat that as weaker, because we could read only the abstract.
KIADB Pillagumpe and Kambalipura. We did not find a groundwater chemistry study for the industrial areas themselves that we could open in full, so there are no measured ranges here. Treat iron, hardness, nitrate and fluoride as first-panel lab items, and add metals where a bore sits near drains or treated-water tanks.

Takeaway: we do not invent a single Hoskote TDS. A Pillagumpe engineering unit, a Narsapura-side warehouse, a Sulibele dairy and a bore beside a refilled tank can sit in completely different chemistry bands. Every Bangalore Aqua quote for Hoskote starts with a feed-water test from your actual source. The numbers above come from CGWB, the state assessment and published studies. Your site test decides the design.
Key Sectors We Build For in Hoskote
KIADB Engineering, Auto Components and Electricals (Pillagumpe, Kambalipura)
Invest Karnataka lists KIADB areas at Pillagumpa and Kambalipura and names automobile, aerospace and electrical/electronics among the district’s major sectors. Typical requirement: 1,000-4,000 LPH for process and utility; 500-1,000 LPH for canteens and drinking points; iron removal and softener ahead of RO where the lab calls for it.
Warehousing, Logistics and Cold Chain (NH-75, Expressway, Hoskote-Narsapura)
With the Hoskote-Narsapura cluster taking 54% of Bengaluru’s warehousing leasing in 2025, large sheds need drinking water for loading crews and drivers, humidifier and cold-room make-up water, and canteen supply, usually on bores or tankers.
Typical requirement: 250-1,000 LPH for staff drinking water; 1,000-2,000 LPH for cold-chain and humidification lines; UV plus RO; buffer storage for tanker deliveries.
Food, Dairy, Pharma and Plant-Extract Units
Invest Karnataka lists pressed food, pharmaceutical products and plant/bio extract products among district exports, and cattle and buffaloes among major livestock. Dairy chilling, bottling, ready-to-eat lines and extract units need low, stable TDS and microbiologically safe contact water, and pharma units need RO as the first stage before regulated purification.
Typical requirement: 500-2,000 LPH; carbon and UV on contact streams; double-pass RO or mixed-bed polishing where a product spec asks for it.
Silk, Textiles and Garments
Invest Karnataka calls the district a silk pioneer and lists textiles and readymade garments among its sectors and exports. Reeling, dyeing, finishing and laundry are sensitive to hardness, iron and TDS.
Typical requirement: 500-2,000 LPH; softener where scale is the main issue; RO for dye-house, reeling and drinking streams where chemistry calls for it.
Hospitals, Colleges and Hostels
Invest Karnataka counts 114 colleges and 259 hospitals in the district. Campuses need safe drinking water plus soft water for kitchens, laundry and hot-water loops.
Typical requirement: 500-2,000 LPH; UV plus RO; structured AMC with fast response.
Residential Townships and Whitefield-Edge Layouts
The IJCRD study projects the taluk’s population rising past 4.6 lakh by 2025 and records town supply of 1-2 hours a day, with tankers filling the gap. Gated layouts on the Whitefield and KR Puram side often blend bore and tanker water.
Typical requirement: 1,000-4,000 LPH central plants; softener plus RO; SS storage; AMC with monthly logs for the association.
Fluoride and Nitrate Pockets: Community, CSR and JJM Plants
With fluoride above 1.5 mg/L in 25 of 650 sources and nitrate hot spots in Nandagudi and Anugondanahalli hoblis, a community RO plant is a direct health intervention in affected villages. Softeners and UV are not. We build community plants with inlet and permeate water-quality records, Kannada-friendly operator training and multi-year AMC. See Best CSR Project RO Plants, Government Drinking Water Projects and Community RO Plants and Community RO Water Plant Karnataka.
Typical requirement: 500-1,000 LPH community plants; optional UPI or coin dispensing; permeate fluoride and nitrate checks on an annual lab cycle where the project requires it.

- Frequently Asked Questions
Do you manufacture the plant in Hoskote or ship it from Bengaluru?
We build the skids at our Kogilu Layout unit in Bengaluru, then install and commission them on site anywhere in Hoskote taluk, including Hoskote town, the Pillagumpe and Kambalipura industrial areas, Sulibele, Nandagudi, Jadigenahalli and Anugondanahalli. AMC and service follow after handover.
What is the typical TDS of Hoskote groundwater?
There isn’t one number. A 2014 study of 34 deep bores in the Hoskote-Malur belt found 167.9 to 1,848.3 mg/L (mean 613.17), and an older set of 650 village sources ran from 70 to 4,130 mg/L. We design from your own lab report.
Our KIADB unit's bore water stains fittings orange. Is RO enough?
Orange staining usually means iron, and the older taluk dataset found iron above 1 mg/L in 43 of 650 sources. Iron fouls RO membranes, so we add an iron removal filter ahead of the softener and RO, sized from your lab result.
We already have a softener. Why do we need RO?
A softener removes hardness and stops scale. It does not lower TDS, chloride, nitrate or fluoride. In Hoskote the softener often stays in place as pre-treatment to protect the RO membranes, because hardness above 600 mg/L turned up in about one in five sources in the older dataset.
Is nitrate a real concern here?
In parts of the taluk, yes. One study of 82 village samples found nitrate up to 1,250 mg/L, with hot spots in Nandagudi and Anugondanahalli hoblis, while 2014 deep bores stayed between 1.2 and 25 mg/L. We test for nitrate on every Hoskote job and verify the permeate.
Is fluoride a design concern for industrial sites?
For drinking water, wherever your lab report shows it. CGWB notes fluoride pockets in the district, and the older taluk dataset found 25 of 650 sources above 1.5 mg/L, while the 2014 deep-bore study stayed at or below 1.0 mg/L. We verify permeate fluoride at commissioning rather than assume it.
Our warehouse runs on tanker water. What should we plan for?
Tanker loads can change source week to week, so we size buffer storage and design for the worst load we see in testing. Standard skids are typically installed in about 2-5 working days after the site is ready (base, power, inlet and drain).
Our bore is near a lake that receives treated wastewater. Can RO handle it?
Yes, with the right front end. Hoskote’s Amani Doddakere has received Bengaluru lake water since 2011, so we run a full panel including bacteria, ammonia, nitrate and metals, then add UF, carbon and enhanced UV where results call for it.
How much does an industrial RO plant cost in Hoskote?
Indicative bands run from ₹85,000 for 250-500 LPH to ₹2.2-3.5 lakh+ for 2,000-4,000 LPH, with custom plants on assessment. Iron removal, extra pre-treatment, automation and civil work change the final figure, which we confirm in writing after the water test.
Do you service RO plants installed by other suppliers?
Yes. We take on AMC and repairs for existing plants after an inspection and a water test.
