Bangalore Aqua - Industrial RO Plant Manufacturer for Yelahanka
Yelahanka (ಯಲಹಂಕ) is a taluk of Bengaluru Urban district and the northern end of the city, the town where Kempegowda I founded his capital before building Bengaluru (Wikipedia, Yelahanka). The district administration describes the areas in and around Yelahanka as the Bengaluru North (Additional) taluk (Bengaluru Urban district administration). Yelahanka hosts the Indian Air Force station, the Rail Wheel Factory of Indian Railways, GKVK and a highway to Kempegowda International Airport.
Our manufacturing unit sits in Kogilu Layout, inside Yelahanka’s own village list (Wikipedia, Bengaluru Urban district). For Yelahanka, Jakkur, Bagalur or the airport road, that means short site visits, quick dispatch and service engineers who are minutes away, not a day trip.
The taluk’s groundwater is over-drawn and officially tagged for nitrate. Tanker and piped water is usually treated for turbidity and bacteria, not dissolved salts or nitrate. A softener stops scale but does not lower TDS or remove nitrate. UV only kills microbes. Reverse osmosis with the right pre-treatment is the practical way to get drinking and process water that stays in specification.
Bangalore Aqua And Energy Pvt. Ltd. manufactures RO plants, water treatment systems, softeners, community and solar RO plants, and industrial and commercial systems. Every Yelahanka plant is built at our Kogilu Layout unit, then installed and commissioned on site, with AMC support after handover.

Yelahanka Water Quality: What the Data Actually Says
Groundwater stress. The joint CGWB and state Dynamic Ground Water Resources of Karnataka 2025 report (mirrored copy) puts Yelahanka’s stage of extraction at 251.32% and classes it over-exploited: 6,144.66 ham drawn against 2,444.95 ham extractable, with 929.32 ham going to industry and nothing left for future use. The 2023 assessment (mirrored copy) gave 225.69%, with 1.92 TMC drawn against 0.85 TMC.
Nitrate tag. Both reports list only two Bengaluru Urban taluks with a groundwater quality tag: Bangalore (North) and Yelahanka, both for nitrate (2025, 2023).
Older CGWB mapping. The CGWB Ground Water Information Booklet for Bangalore Urban (December 2008, OpenCity copy) predates Yelahanka taluk and covers it under Bangalore North. It gives fresh water (EC 500-1,000 micromhos/cm) over most of that taluk, an isolated 2,000-3,000 patch in its north-east corner, chloride of 250-1,000 mg/L in eastern patches and high nitrate in small south-western and north-eastern portions. District-wide: hardness 100-600 ppm, fluoride generally below 1 ppm.
CGWB monitoring wells. CGWB’s quality dataset on the National Water Data Portal has May samples near Yelahanka:
- Yelahanka (2001-2017): EC 510-1,622 µS/cm, chloride 71-226 mg/L, hardness 160-250 mg/L.
- Kodigehalli (2013-2020): EC 670-1,920 µS/cm, chloride 113.6-334 mg/L, hardness 190-600 mg/L.
- Hebbal (2000-2020): EC 610-1,110 µS/cm, chloride 60-234 mg/L, hardness 170-290 mg/L.
The copy we read has no usable TDS, nitrate or fluoride values for these wells.
Lakes. Jakkur lake is the middle of a chain with Yelahanka and Rachenahalli lakes, takes about 10 MLD of treated STP water plus 0.5 MLD of raw sewage, recharges local groundwater and was hyper-eutrophic in 2015-16 (Jamwal, Resonance, 2017). Lake-side bores deserve a bacteria and nitrate check.
Rainfall. The 2025 state report gives Bengaluru Urban a normal of 846 mm; the CGWB booklet uses 831 mm.
Piped supply. Cauvery Stage V covers 110 villages including those in the Yelahanka zone (Economic Times, 2024), but a year on only 87,000 new connections had been given against a 3.5 lakh target (The Hindu, 2025). Many sites still blend bore, tanker and Cauvery water.
Planning table
Concern | Planning note | Implication |
Over-extraction | 251.32% (2025), 225.69% (2023) | Plan storage, recovery and reject handling |
Nitrate | State-tagged in 2025 and 2023 | Nitrate on every panel; verify permeate |
TDS / EC | EC 510-1,920 µS/cm at nearby CGWB wells | Membranes set from your measured feed |
Hardness | 160-600 mg/L at nearby wells | Softener or antiscalant ahead of RO |
Fluoride | Generally below 1 ppm (CGWB) | Test once on drinking-water jobs |
Lake-side bores | Jakkur chain receives STP water and sewage | Bacteria, ammonia, nitrate on the panel |
Supply mix | Cauvery Stage V still connecting | Design for the worst source in the blend |
Takeaway: we do not invent a single Yelahanka TDS. A Doddaballapur Road unit, a Jakkur apartment and a Bagalur warehouse can sit in different chemistry bands. Every Yelahanka quote starts with a feed-water test from your actual source.

- Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the plant built?
At our Kogilu Layout unit in Yelahanka itself. We install and commission on site and service from the same base.
How fast can you visit?
Kogilu is inside Yelahanka, so site visits and service calls are quick across the taluk and airport road.
Is Yelahanka part of Bengaluru Rural?
No. It is a taluk of Bengaluru Urban district.
What is the typical TDS here?
There isn’t one. Nearby CGWB wells read EC of 510-1,920 µS/cm. We design from your lab report.
Is nitrate a real concern?
Yes. The 2025 and 2023 state reports tag Yelahanka for nitrate. We test every site and verify the permeate.
We have a softener. Why RO?
A softener stops scale but does not lower TDS or nitrate. It often stays as pre-treatment.
We get Cauvery water now. Do we still need RO?
For drinking, often only carbon and UV. Process water and blended bore or tanker supply usually still need RO.
Is fluoride a concern?
Usually not the driver; CGWB reports it generally below 1 ppm. We still test it.
What does a plant cost?
From ₹85,000 for 250-500 LPH to ₹2.2-3.5 lakh+ for 2,000-4,000 LPH; custom plants on assessment.
Do you service other suppliers' plants?
Yes, after an inspection and a water test. See AMC Services.
